HAITI EARTHQUAKE RELIEF
Thank you Sugarloaf Family for your generosity! We have collected over $36,000.00 in support of the Haiti Earthquake relief efforts. We will continue to accept support through Januaru 31. Please place your check or money in the orange buckets located at the guest services desk on Sunday.Your Donation will go to support UMCOR and The Good Shepheard School in Haiti, helping ot provide both immediate aid and long term assisitance. UMCOR, The United Methodist Center on Relief. UMCOR responds to natural or civil disasters that are interruptions of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community's ability to recover on its own. UMCOR will use %100 of our donation to purchase the supplies most needed for immediate aid and relief in Haiti. UMCOR also collects the supplies for relief kits. Go to www.umcor.org for more information.
We also plan to partner with Haiti Young Life and The Good Shepherd School, the ministries we will be serving on our Beyond the Walls mission trip in September. The Good Shepherd School provides an education and hot meal to 1600 children in Pele, near Port-Au-Prince. We want to to aid in their recovery but are still waiting for more information to ensure our efforts are most beneficial to them. Go to www.haitichildsponsorship.org for more information.
