Sugarloaf United Methodist Church Committees

Sugarloaf Council

The Council is the primary “governing board” of the church.  It is comprised of both laity and Church Staff representing the various ministry departments.  The Council meets quarterly to receive reports, set priorities, and when needed, take action on specific requests.  Any member of the church is welcome to attend meetings of the Council.

Staff Parish Relations Committee

The SPRC exists to serve as a “liaison” between the membership and the Ministry Staff.     Their goal is to provide the Staff with the necessary resourcing and encouragement to flourish in their respective ministries.  They also assist by informing the Staff of congregational needs and expectations.  Working with the Staff, they determine ministry objectives and the positions needed to accomplish the goals of the church.  Members of the SPRC are elected at the annual Charge Conference and serve three year terms.

Colossians 3:12/Ephesians 4:15 "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience... speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ."

                                                Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is responsible for overseeing all monetary aspects of the church's ministry.  It insures that all money received and spent by the church is handled in a manner consistent with our faith and mission.  It prepares the annual budget, gives an accounting of all funds and works to promote faithful giving among the congregation.  Members of the Finance Committee are elected at the annual Charge Conference and serve three year terms.

Trustee Committee

The Trustees are responsible for managing the physical facilities and grounds of the church campus.  Recognizing that the church building is the “house of God” they take steps to insure its proper care and upkeep.  Members of the Trustees are elected at the annual Charge Conference and serve three year terms.
