New to Sugarloaf?
WELCOME! Here are a few THINGS TO KNOW, that will help you know more about Sugarloaf UMC.
We know that visiting a church for the first time can be intimidating, whether you are looking for a new church or whether you don’t have a church at all. Know that we have planned for your visit and that you are welcome here.
Below are some helpful hints and shortcuts to make your first visit easier.
BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
We have kids programming and adult classes starting at 9:30am every Sunday. Service is Sunday morning at 10:45am.
Get directions to the church. We are located at the corner of S. Scales Road and Old Peachtree road, just 2.0 miles off of I-85 in Duluth.
Know where to park. Look for designated Newcomer,Special needs and handicapped designated parking spots. These spots are located close to the front doors of all the buildings on campus. (Campus Map).
WHEN YOU GET HERE
Arrive early, especially if you have children who will be attending Sugarloaf Kids or Student Life worship services.
Come a little earlier to join us for a cup of coffee from the Connections Café, where we support and serve Land of a Thousand Hills coffee; a Drink Coffee Do Good® ministry. The Connections Café is located in the lobby of the Community Life and Worship Center.

All worship services are held downstairs in the Worship Center, so grab some coffee and come on down. The stairs to the Worship Center are located on the right side of the lobby. There is also an elevator for your convenience located
in the left rear corner of the lobby.
Guest Services Hosts are eagerly waiting to help you get your kids settled around campus, give campus tours, answer questions or help in any way you need them. Guest Services counters are located both upstairs between the bookcases and downstairs in the Guest Services area. Drop by and say hello.
Before you enter the worship service, an usher will hand you a weekly newsletter. This is updated each week, so make sure you take it home with you and read it cover-to-cover for the most up-to-date information on everything happening here at Sugarloaf.
Giving at Sugarloaf is a commitment made by our members and those who attend regularly. For now, you're our guest. Feel no obligation to give. If you decide to make Sugarloaf your church home, you can register for online giving, or contact Debby Jarrett, our Director of Finance, regarding giving options.
Don't rush out after the services are over! Take some time to stop by Guest Services. The Guest Services volunteers would love to meet you and answer your questions.
AFTER YOU LEAVE, now what?
If you filled out the Keep-In-Touch card during the worship service, we will mail you some information about the church. No one will call or visit you at home.
Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns that you had after your visit, set up a tour of the campus, or schedule a time to meet with any of the church staff. We are here for you!
